Biographical/Historical Note

Arkansas Cumberland College, at Clarksville, Arkansas, was established by the Arkansas Synod, April 15, 1891.In 1920, the name was changed to The College of the Ozarks. In 1987 the school achieved full university status and was renamed The University of the Ozarks.
