This list of soldiers from Calhoun County, Arkansas includes name, regiment, and status (in service, discharged, or dead), in addition to their family members' names, ages, and relationships.
Biographical/Historical Note
Calhoun County, Arkansas, was formed in 1850 from parts of Dallas and Ouachita counties. At the beginning of the Civil War many men living in Calhoun County enlisted in the Confederate Army, creating a labor shortage. Some of these men left families were unable to support themselves and the county created an act to provide for them.
