This agreement was made between the Railroad Committee of Bentonville, Arkansas, and the Arkansas and Oklahoma Railroad Company in 1898.
Biographical/Historical Note
The people of Bentonville, Arkansas, struggled to attract a railroad line to their town for decades, until 1898, when the Arkansas, Oklahoma and Western Railroad finally reached the town. The Railroad Committee of Bentonville agreed to provide land for a depot and ten miles of right-of-way for the company.
