Description

This collection contains a scrapbook with material related to Alfred Arrington, including poems, articles, obituaries, biographical articles, and stories. Much of the material is about his law practice in Chicago.

Biographical/Historical Note

Alfred W. Arrington (1810-1867) was a clergyman, lawyer, judge, legislator, and writer of North Carolina, Arkansas, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Texas, and Wisconsin. Some of his works were published under the pseudonym Charles Summerfield. His second wife, Lydia L. Holden, collected the material in the scrapbook.
