Description

This is a pencil sketch of the Convent of Mercy at 7th and Louisiana Street in Little Rock, unknown date.

Biographical/Historical Note

The first Sisters of Mercy arrived in Little Rock in 1851 with Bishop Andrew J. Byrne. The first Saint Mary Convent in Little Rock was opened November 1, 1851. This became Mount Saint Mary's Convent and Academy.
