I selected this because it's the oldest item in the collections of SARA, dating prior to the creation of the Arkansas Territory. A settlement on the Red River, Pecan Point was in a disputed area that had been claimed by the United States as well as by Spain and is now located in northeastern Red River County, Texas. - Melissa Nesbitt
