Description
Lunch menu for the Arkansas Wood Products Association Board of Directors meeting on October 31, 1953, at the Marion Hotel in Little Rock, Arkansas, printed on thin plywood. There is a depiction of a woodpecker in the top left corner, drilling at wood. Lumber industry terminology is used to describe items on the menu.
Biographical/Historical Note
Kenneth L. Smith collected these materials while researching his book, "Sawmill: The Story of Cutting the Last Great Virgin Forest East of the Rockies," a history of logging in the Arkansas and Oklahoma Ouachita Mountains from 1900 to 1950. The book was published by the University of Arkansas Press in1986.
