Description

This sepia postcard depicts the Mammoth Spring train depot in the foreground with the Roller Mill on the left side.

Biographical/Historical Note

The Mammoth Spring Train Depot was built in 1886 as the Kansas City, Fort Scott, and Memphis Railroad line was being constructed. The town flourished with the railroad for many years, but the depot was officially closed down in 1978. Later it was converted to a state park.
