Description
This is a partially colored postcard with the image of the M.E. Church of Arkadelphia on the front. The postcard is in black and white except for the blue sky. There is a handwritten note on the back of the card.
Biographical/Historical Note
This is the Methodist Episcopal Church in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. The Methodist Episcopal Church, sometimes referred to as the M.E. Church, was a development of the first expression of Methodism in the United States. The M.E. church, M.E. South, and Methodist Protestant churches merged in 1939 to become the Methodist Church. The Methodist Church and the Evangelical United Brethren Church merged to form the United Methodist Church in 1968.
