Description

Photograph of a ladder leading up to a large, stocked hayloft in Mr. Dehls' barn.

Biographical/Historical Note

Hay has to be kept dry and safe from the weather so that it doesn't quickly decompose. Consequently, haylofts have long been used by farmers for the permanent storage of hay or other fodder.
