This collection contains yearbooks of Perryville High School, 1939-2001, and a fiftieth anniversary booklet of the class of 1950 with class members' autobiographies
Biographical/Historical Note
A school existed at Perryville as early as 1876, with classes being held in a church. In 1916, after several other buildings had been used, a two-story building was constructed, and in 1928 a gymnasium added. In 1947 an elementary school was built and the Perryville school system received students from twelve nearby rural schools due to consolidation. These additional children tripled the number of students, resulting in expansion of the school's curriculum. In 1956 a junior high school was constructed, followed by a new high school building in the 1960s.
