Biographical/Historical Note

Clay Stephenson completed compiling the materials for The Clay Stephenson genealogical collection in 2007. The collection focuses on Maude Cotton Stephenson and Amanda Ella Russell Stephenson. The Stephenson family settled near Leslie, Arkansas, in Searcy County. The materials trace the family history back through North Carolina to Great Britain. Genealogical resources were photocopied and compiled into twenty one three-ring binders. Resources in the collection include census records, birth and death records, transcripts of oral interviews, records from United Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of 1812. Extensive pedigree charts and indexes also make up a large portion of the collection.
