Description

This collection contains rosters along with lists of names and home addresses of the soldiers in Batteries A, B, C, D, and E, as well as rosters of the supply company and the headquarters company. There is also a folder of passenger lists of organizations and casualties in Battery F returning to the United States in 1919. Correspondence between different members of the company is also included.

Biographical/Historical Note

The 142nd Field Artillery unit consisted of a large number of men from northwest Arkansas. Most of the men included in these records were drafted in August 1917, and were trained at Camp Pike, Arkansas, before serving in France during World War I from August 1918 to June 1919.
