This collection consists of biographical information forms completed by the members of the Arkansas House of Representatives Seventy-Sixth General Assembly. The forms were provided by the Arkansas History Commission at the suggestion of Representative Jerry E. Hinshaw, who distributed and collected the forms for preservation at the State Archives

Biographical/Historical Note

Representative Jerry E. Hinshaw distributed biographical forms to members of the Seventy- Sixth General Assembly. Jerrold Eldon Hinshaw was born near Sheridan, Indiana, January 15, 1917. Hinshaw was a resident of Tontitown, Arkansas. A veteran of World War II, Hinshaw raised poultry and cattle, engaged in real estate, served as director of the First State Bank at Springdale, Arkansas, and was a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives, 1981-1996. Hinshaw was a historian who wrote "Call the Roll: The First One Hundred Fifty Years of the Arkansas Legislature" (Little Rock: Department of Arkansas Heritage, circa 1986). Hinshaw died December 31, 2003.
