Biographical/Historical Note
"On the Courthouse Square in Arkansas" by John Purifoy Gill and Marjem Jackson Gill was published in 1980. The photographic essay documents eighty-five county courthouses in use at the time of publication. In addition, the book describes eleven United States courthouses in Arkansas and sixteen former county and federal courthouses standing as of 1980.
