This collection is comprised of two DVDs containing oral interviews, as well as background information on H.E.L.P. Inc. and its founder.
Biographical/Historical Note
The Human Elevation Love Project Inc., or H.E.L.P. Inc., is a non-profit organization, founded in 1976 by Dr. Anthony Hobbs of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The organization's main focus is working with black families, hosting forums and dialogs regarding issues of interest to the black community, sponsoring women's shelters, and summer programs for black youth. HELP also works with local churches, organizations, and fraternities. “The School Without Walls," developed out of H.E.L.P. Inc., was an educational television program that aired daily on UAPB-TV, hosted by Dr. Hobbs, with an emphasis on local black achievements.
