Description
This collection contains the galley proofs of Best's three books: "The Sharecropper's Son," "The Hobo's Trail," and "It'll All Come Out in the Wash."
Biographical/Historical Note
Earnest Lloyd Best was born at Rosebud, White County, Arkansas, in 1911. He left Arkansas during the Depression, traveled around the country and eventually settled in Michigan, where he found work in the laundry of a state hospital. He spent 40 years in management in the laundry industry. In 1986, after retirement, Best returned to Arkansas, where he lived in Des Arc, Prairie County, Arkansas. He died in his home in Huntsville, Alabama in 2015.
